Increase the Peace
In a post-Columbine world, cognog owner, Phil Thompson, and two other local fathers, Steve Gevinson, and David Hammond, decided to create a classroom learning experience designed to increase the maturity level of student decision-making when confronted with situations that have the potential to lead to deadly violence.
The challenge was to quickly engage students' participation in a media-rich, activity-based classroom experience to keep them interested.
The team included students from Oak Park River Forest High School, community professionals; National Public Radio; and Heinemann who published and marketed the book / DVD set. Local News Story.
